FIRST IMPRESSIONS GEKKO

The first thing to say is:

“Gekko is a good Agent.”

Both in terms of his design and his in-game mechanics. I think the vast majority of the Valorant community has welcomed him with open arms. And it was something important for the game.

Let’s talk about gameplay

Gekko brings 2 new mechanics.

• You can pick up Wingman, Dizzy and Thrash, after using them. This allows you to reutilize them.
• Wingman can both plant and defuse the Spike.

These are very strong mechanics.

That an initiator can pick up his abilities and reutilize them in 10s, is “curious to say the least”. And even more so when Thrash is the ultimate. It is true that these 3 skills can be broken, which reduces their potential. But, even so, they are 10s. Riot has to be very careful with this.

That Wingman can defuse the entire Spike. This is too decisive in certain situations.

Conclusion

He is a great Agent, who brings a lot to Valorant. Very strong winning zones and in situations where the Spike is involved.

I guess Riot will wait to see him in competitive to make the appropriate changes.
